Harry's New York Bar

This bar dates back to 1911 and located across the street from PastaPaPa on rue Daunou in Paris. I mention it because it is a famous American bar from Manhattan. The story goes that the original bar was dismantled and shipped to Paris and voila...there you have it. It certainly is warm and inviting for a comfortable drink or two to share with a few friends.

Notables that have visited Harry's Bar are Coco Chanel, Knute Rockne, Ernest Hemmingway, Rita Hayworth, Humphrey Bogart and the Duke of Windsor.
George Gershwin composed "An American in Paris" here at Harry's Bar

Drinks that got their start at Harry's Bar:
Bloody Mary
French 75
Side Car
The Monkey Gland (say what!?)
