Fraises au Vin (Strawberries in Red Wine)

Very simple, elegant summertime dessert.



2 lbs. fresh strawberries, stems removed and cut in quarters
1 cup red wine (your choice, I prefer Merlot)
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar

Put strawberries in bowl
Cover with water and wine
Add sugar and stir together
Let sit overnight

Best served at room temperature

Serves about 4-6
